Oil and Gas TENORM

At the request of the USFS, Newtech personnel provided 3 days of TENORM training for USFS and Bureau of Land Management personnel related to naturally occurring radioactive materials.  Training included overview of pertinent  aspects of the regulations, safe use, detection, evaluation, and disposition of naturally occurring radioactive materials expected to be encountered from oil and gas and mineral processing activities within federal lands.  At the request of USFS, our personnel also performed a survey to identify naturally occurring radioactive material associated with oil field operations at a site containing potentially contaminated structures, equipment, waste, and buried materials within the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky.  Personnel performed radiation surveys and collected surface and subsurface samples which were analyzed in our laboratory, followed by the issuance of a final report.
